OK I’m getting real with you this week…
I hate drama and I bet you do too! For years, I would pride myself on the fact that I was anti-drama, with a very “just say no to drama” attitude. Just because I wasn’t getting into spats with other people, didn’t mean I was totally drama free.
Looking back, I started to realize that I actually had so much drama in my life, it just wasn’t with other people! It was with MYSELF!
I was busy building a business and as you probably know, it can be really stressful to do that, especially if you have clients and employees. Anytime anything would go wrong, I was in a total tailspin.
I’d go home and talk about it with my mom, my husband, anyone who would listen! And the more I made things into an ordeal, the worse the drama would get.
In reality, it was probably no big deal. I was choosing to be offended and upset. Maybe you can relate. I want you to ask yourself this question: How many times per week do you find yourself taking things personally or being offended? For me, I used to lose count!
Eventually, I learned this was the least productive way to run my business and my life. But reforming my internal drama queen proved to be a little more challenging than i thought it would be…
