Moody Hues: To trend or not to trend?

Posted by

After years of walls trending lighter and lighter, the pendulum is swinging. I am loving the gorgeous moody hues I am seeing on walls from Charcoal, to Navy, to Teal.

Here are a few of my favorites…

So what do you think? I think it’s dreamy and with a pop of pink, orange or yellow…delicious!

Leave a comment and let me know if you can ditch lighter walls for this new rich and smokey trend. Are you on board for one room or your whole house? And why do you love it or hate it so much? Oh how I love a color debate…

I say bring on the bold and bright color! Coastal colors are going out to sea, grays are fading into the sunset and indigo blues and dark hues are coming in! 2014 is going to be the year of great color and I’m very excited!

Love the color trend! I have bold color in many rooms in my home- it is broken up with lots of windows and trim (painted white). It is so happy. When people come over, they are surprised and they love it! Our previous home was neutral, and when we moved here, my husband wanted color! He said “life’s too short for beige.” We went for it, and I am so pleased we did!

I love a navy room with all white and even a black room for a den or small powder room, but I have to have light and bright as a person so I will be keeping my medium value hues around me..

  4. Oh Yes! My office and my bedroom has a “moody” paint color and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Gorgeous images and love the oil paintings too!

I would love it in a study area. Having one wall mixed with white is perfect you know this gives me good ideas for my college age sons that visit for their room. I was told a while back it was not masculine enough.
