March is for Transformations

Hi Friends! Wow!! Can you believe we are already here in March? I hope you enjoyed my Month of Love as much as I did. And I hope you used it as an excuse to buy yourself all sorts of lovely gifts that I curated for you in my list of love!

What I learned from this year’s month of love by looking at my blog analytics is that you “like” it a lot, but what you REALLY love is my more heartfelt, raw and real posts about my life and design journey. My posts about my “Lightbulb Moment” and “What people think of you is none of your Business” have been your favorite posts in the history of my blog. So the good news is I am back with more of these. That’s right…Get ready for some AMAZING and authentic reflections this month!! I’ve got some BIG ones for you.

But like the old saying goes, Time flies when you’re having fun! And I so enjoyed bringing you the Month of Love. In fact I’m enjoying all parts of my life right now. Even the difficult parts (and trust me there have been many challenges lately). 2013 has certainly been fun so far, but it’s also been full of transformations.

And just like Spring brings transformations in nature this time of year, this month I am focusing on transformations all month long including transformations in design, in life and in business.

I’ll be telling you how my own business has transformed since I made some big changes in my staff. I’ll tell you about how I’ve transformed my thinking to make maintenance of my healthy lifestyle easier and more fun. In fact, you’ll see this theme of transformation or CHANGE here on the blog and in all my coaching programs from e-Coaching to Mastermind to our private consulting clients for the month of March. It’s important stuff that I don’t want you to miss.

So let’s get started with this Transformation idea right now…

You’ve seen me transform physically over the last 2 years and I’ll be bringing you more insight into that tomorrow with my Self-care Saturday post. But what you haven’t seen is how I have transformed my approach to design and really my “Design Process” to one that is effective in the new economy but also fulfills me emotionally. It is now a process that inspires me. One that is aligned not only with my brand but with my life’s purpose. And as I learned from one of my favorite books Hard Goals, if we are aligned with our purpose and challenged at the same time, we are more fulfilled than we can imagine. Fulfilled? Well I definitely am now!

My customers have changed. In fact, all design clients in the world have changed, really, even the luxury client. A new type of client has emerged it seems. And now more than ever before, what many of you are looking for is a Guide for self-directed design, not so much someone to do it all for you. But someone to do it “with” you.

I think this is true in all of life really. Post 9/11 and post recession means people want to connect with everything in their life. I know I do. Our time is precious and we want to be enlightened, fulfilled, and excited in all that we do. People want to be a part of the processes, a part of the TRANSFORMATION whether it be in your home, your relationships, or your business. We want to know how it “works”. We want everything we do to mean something. To add value and quality to our life. To resonate and connect on a deeper level.

So what does that mean for me personally and for my business? Well, it means a few things. First, it means that the core of my job (and my life)–working with my full-service design clients–needs to connect with me and my life’s philosophy in a very authentic way. My work needs to align with who I am. So beginning this year, it became very important for me to truly align with my clients in a way that I have never done before.

As of 2013, my niche for my business became this…Creating Inspired design, Inspired business and Inspired living. And inspired design and living to me means creating a home environment that supports health, wellness, self-care and quality of life. It’s that important.  It’s not just putting together a room full of beautiful or trendy things. See? There’s that idea of connecting with the home on a deeper level.

Now, for full-service clients to really be a fit for me, it is a must that they want to improve or maintain their health, wellness, self-care, family care and spirituality to design a well-lived life. And I work hand-in-hand with them to create a home environment that supports this enlightened way of living. I am so INSPIRED (my word of the year) by this shift in my design services that I can hardly wait to get to work. It is what I am meant to be doing. It is the way I have once again found my sweet spot and my passion for this wonderful world of interiors that I work in. I have found my purpose. My Drive

I will be bringing you much more on this TRANSFORMATION of my full-service business over the next 30 days. I want to tell you just how I have made this shift as it is not only possible but totally within your power to align your passion with your work too. It’s all about changing the way you think!

And later this month I will have an EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT of another new service I am bringing to help GUIDE many of you in your quest for creating gorgeous interiors. So stay tuned for that coming soon. It’s a clever and creative idea I think you are going to LOVE.

In the meantime, let’s look through that trusty ole microscope a bit…what about you…if you are a designer, or in any profession really, Have YOU found your SWEET SPOT? Do you know what your purpose is and have you aligned it with your Passion? Or are you due for a Transformation of your own. Well I hope you will go on this path to transformation with me all month long here on the blog.

And if you think my blog alone won’t be enough to help you make the BIG LEAPS in your life or business that you want to make, if you need HELP transforming, I hope you will consider my e-Coaching, Designer MBA camp or Mastermind Consulting Group to help you be accountable to really living the life you deserve! Team Tobi and I would love to hold your hand while you leap.

Here’s to change, my friends! It’s not easy but it’s SOOO worth it.

Tobi, love you, and love your blog!! Thank you for your “inspiring” courage to change, and to share with all of us how you are doing it.
I feel I have been on the cusp of a change for the last few years of my life and have been afraid to take the last leap of faith into a new frontier. Reading your blog of inspiration and encouragement and watching the changes you are making in your own life, especially those of self care, has given me just the “push forward” I have needed to finally make a change. I can’t thank you enough!!! I feel like I am heading for a “growth spurt!”

  2. Tobi this transformation you speak of is so necessary to the growth and health of our businesses and our personal lives. I know first hand how hard it was to transform my business last year to serve my passion but you helped me see the vision and it has been so rewarding. Thank you for sharing your gifts and for choosing your full service clients to also receive these gifts. They will be so blessed (as have I)! Lets do it!!

Tobi, beautiful authentic post. I can so relate to the desire for my work to mean more than “a pretty space.” I believe design is about, dare I say, creating more love in the world by building spaces that encourage connection — whether to family, friends, or business associates.
I really admire your work and appreciate your encouraging posts! Hope to meet you at DBC in LA.
