Weekend Project: Mirror Magic

Posted by

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned using MirrorMate to bring a bland bathroom to life. Since then several people have told me the great success they’ve had with this product, so I thought it might be fun to take a peek at a few more before and afters — especially since this custom product is so easy to use and attaches directly to your current frameless mirror without even taking it off the wall!! That’s what I call ‘no contractor required!’ Anyhow, here are a few of the custom framing options I think have a classic look…

Chelsea Black Satin Frame

Venetian Silver Wave

Cherokee Dark Walnut

I’m even thinking about putting a different spin on some of the fabulous structures of these frames with some (you guessed it!) bright, bold paint!

You can see more of these fabulous before-and-afters here and view their entire selection of frames here.

Have you used MirrorMate for your own makeover? Leave a comment and let me know how you would use it your home.

Good luck with your weekend projects!

I need to do this to my bathrooms it is amazing how different a framed mirror makes the room – Monica

I haven’t used MirrorMate, but it seems brilliant! We have three bathrooms with builder-grade, plain, gigantic mirrors (they run from the sink backsplash up to the lights, and all the way into the corner walls). A frame wouldn’t make the mirrors smaller, but would make them more finished and deliberate looking. Thanks for the idea.

  3. Frames add so much value to a bathroom mirror! We have used Mirror Mate in the past. Installation on a large mirror can be difficult and my handyman does not like installing them because the frames are made out of particle board. Now we use a custom frame shop who measures the mirror, creates the frame, and installs it over the mirror just like Mirror Mate but with quality of a good frame.
