Stripe It Rich

Posted by

As you can tell from my features this month, I’m loving the stripe trend! One of favorite companies using bold stripes right now is Dash & Albert.  They have the most amazing colorways and patterns in their rug collection!

I wanted to treat you this Sunday with some fabulous rooms featuring bold striped interiors!

Diamond Baratta Design always does an amazing job with pattern and color.  This dining room has wonderful striped wallcovering.

Kristiina Ratia’s center hall decked in colorful stripes hits all the right notes.

Scot Meacham Wood’s design for an East Hampton bedroom is perfectly tailored for relaxing at the beach.

Also by Scot Meacham Wood is this gorgeous al fresco dining table.  I love the striped rug and pillows!

Kelly Wearstler turned stripes upside down in the Avalon Hotel.

Miles Redd created another instant classic with these hand-painted stripes!

I love, love, love this lilac and cream color combo by Bruno de Caumont!  It’s delicious!

I recently went bold with stripes at the Richmond Symphony Orchestra League’s Designer House.  I used my Tobi Fairley striped fabric and my striped rug from New River Artisans.

How are you using stripes these days?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! -Tobi

  1. I appreciate the use of stripes but doubt I would personally use them in any “big” way i.e. on the walls, a big rug, etc….but on a chair, a few pillows or accent pieces..I love stripes..however the pictures above certainly do stripes justice!

I have always been a huge fan of stripes. I adore Dash&Albert rugs – especially on a staircase – so striking and fun at the same time!

  3. I love stripes and currently am wanting large horizontal stripes for a bedroom’s drapery panels. Do you have any sources that have large scale stripes running horizontal? I am starting to think I am going to have them made using two fabrics. BTW, I was searching your site last week for more info on your fabrics and wallpapers. Are they available yet? I am sure they are fabulous!

Oh Stripes I just love stripes and I have them in my dining room and kitchen in a sage and white awning striped wallpaper, You can see it on my blog. I also have stripes on my front porch in black and white awning stripe for a curtain and also on a Greek key footstool to go with the two chairs on the porch. I am a stripe addict, soon to have them on my sofa in the family room and a blue and white ticking. I don’t think I ever met a stripe I did not like!!! Loved this post Tobi!!!! Kathysue

  5. I love a stripe! So graphic, clearly makes a statement. My biggest problem is to work other patterns in so it’s too striped. Would love to see a post on mixing stripes and patterns and gain some ideas. And of course, love that show house room!

  6. I love stripes. I keep thinking one day I’ll get the guts to do a striped wall. I love the purple striped room!
