Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom and all you other fantastic Mom’s out there!!
Today on the Tobi Fairley Interior Design Facebook Page we are talking about “how your mom influenced your interior design style”. For me it was an amazing sense of color that my mom passed down to me.
Here are some of my favorite answers from other Designer friends:
Starr Miller of Starr Miller Interior Design: “At ~10 years old she let me work with our interior designer to design my own space. Mom was a great hostess and had great style.”
Camille Maurice: “My mother was never afraid to display art or objects because she had a child in the house. It taught me a lot about appreciating beautiful things!”
Linda Merrill of Surroundings Blog and the Skirted Roundtable: “My mom taught me to sew, taught me the value of buying quality that lasts a lifetime and tried (but failed) to teach me that less is more. Oh well, 2 out of 3′s not bad!”

I didn’t know you had a FB page – and I’ve corrected my ignorance! I’m now a fan. GREAT discussion on mother inspirations! That is certainly true in my life. I love chinoiserie, and the house I grew up in was bursting with it. My mother always indulged my little “decorating” projects in childhood, providing direction when things went wrong. Although she probably shouldn’t have let me choose that pink carpet for my bedroom

Love your style and your blog. Remember reading about you in Traditional Home (young designers to watch), but for some reason didn’t make Arkansas connection. Was wondering if you ever work in Nashville?
