Los Angeles Here I Come

I am off bright and early in the morning to Los Angeles to be part of an exciting discussion panel. I am honored to have been asked by Traditional Home Magazine to be part of their 20th Anniversary events during Design week at the Pacific Design Center, affectionately known as the Blue Whale.

Thursday morning at 11am I will be in the company of Windsor Smith, Peter Dunham, Joe Lucas and Shane Reilly to discuss the “Past, Present and Future of Design”. My friend and senior design editor for Traditional Home, Candace Manroe will be moderating the panel. For more information see the Traditional Home Website for details on the event.

I will also be attending a few other fabulous events while I am in LA, having dinner with friends and then making a little weekend trip to San Fran and Wine Country before I head back South.  I look forward to filling you all in on my fantastic trip soon.  xoxo Tobi

Furniture Fit for a Family

Since I am focused on family rooms this month, I am finally showing you all the fabulous furniture currently in my showroom that I have been promising to share.  If you are looking to outfit your family spaces or any spaces for that matter, you might just find something here that you love. I am crazy about this navy and chocolate vignette with a pop of Kelly Green. So fresh!! The Soicher Marin prints above the sofa are favorites of mine and the Shine Home lamps are killer.

For a touch of glamour, try these gold gourd lamps and bamboo chairs paired with the star detail Mariette Himes console for Hickory Chair.

Teal, totally 80’s or totally chic? I am going with the later. I think this serpentine chest is a must have. I wish I had room in my own home for this one. It’s not to shabby with these Barclay Butera Hyland Wing chairs.

The Osborne and Little trellis velvet on these slippers is the perfect compliment to the fab chest. Plus, more great Soicher Marin art!

Another hot color trend…Black and coral. In this instance I threw in a bit of blue.  Refreshing if you ask me.

Speaking of Black, it also pairs beautifully with green and white. Bold houndstooth check and Celerie Kemble’s bright green floral for Schumacher work like a charm!

These back-painted coral art pieces would make an amazing focal point.  I still think I need to add on to my house.

These Hickory Chair wings in the Schumacher Floral might just be my favorite wing chairs ever.

In a word…Wow!

So family room or other, I hope these little gems have inspired you to create a new space to spend time with your family. If you’re in the area, stop by and check them out in person.

F is for Fall, Football and Family Rooms

This time of year means back to school, football season and more time spent with family around the TV, the coffee table and the fire. So I thought it would be appropriate to have a focus for September on the Family Room. Here are a few favorites from my portfolio.

 And a few more I find inspirational…
