2008:A Year in Review

Posted by

2008 has been a wonderful year for me and Tobi Fairley Interior Design.  Please join me in reminiscing about some of the highlights!

The first quarter started off with a bang including large installations, photo shoots, new clients, new employees and all of the detail work that goes along with it!

April was a great month with an Amazing feature of the Morton home in At Home in Arkansas Magazine.

And a multi-page feature in Traditional Home about the popularity of geometrics, that featured 2 of my spaces from the Susan G. Komen 2007 Designer house. This was a beautiful spread!!

This was followed by the cover of Inviting Arkansas Magazine highlighting the St. Vincent Hospital’s IV Party with me as a co-chair for the event.

June rolled in with my home feature and the cover of At Home in Arkansas in their annual designer’s homes issue! I was just the second person ever to grace the cover!!  This was a wonderful surprise!!

October was jam-packed with excitement!!

The Harp Home was featured in the October Builder’s Home issue of At Home, highlighting my partnership with builder Richard Harp and his wife Brandy on their fantastic new home.

And also in October, My work in the 2005 Symphony Designer House girl’s room was featured in Better Homes and Garden’s Dream Bedrooms Magazine!

I received 3 ASID design awards in October, including 2 gold awards and 1 silver. This brings my total to 10 awards, 7 of which are the prestigious Gold Award!!!

Morton Home wins Gold!!

This Retro Project also takes a gold!!

And a silver for the 2007 Susan G. Komen Build for the Cure Designer House.

I launched my new business name, revealed our new logo, website and blog and announced our new location plans at an event in October.

Little Rock Soiree Magazine named me as the “Best Interior Designer” in their November issue.

And finally in December, I was featured by Design & Decor Magazine in their first annual Women in Design issue.  It was so exciting to be honored as part of the group of eight Amazing Women that included Celerie Kemble, Candice Olson, Roberta Schilling, Susan Hornbeak-Ortiz from Shine Home, Paulette Cole, CEO of ABC Home in NYC, Annie Selke who created Pine Cone Hill, and Carol Gregg, owner of Red Egg.

So for all of these successes, many thanks are in order! Thanks to At Home in Arkansas Magazine for their amazing support of my work! Thanks to Meredith Publishing for including me in such a great Traditional Home issue in April and again in October with Dream Bedrooms! Thanks to Inviting Arkansas Magazine for their wonderful charity promotions, including their superb coverage of St. Vincent’s annual Fundraiser, IV party! Thanks to Little Rock Soiree and their readers for naming be the “Best Interior Designer” in their annual service issue! Thanks to Design & Decor for the amazing honor of being included with 7 other fantastic women in the home furnishings and design industry.  Thanks to my amazing clients who allow me to use my creative talents on their homes and then go through the rigor of having them photographed! Believe me it is not easy! Thanks to my staff for all their hard work in the transition from T. Lamarr Interiors to Tobi Fairley Interior Design. They truly believe in my vision for the company and work hard to help me reach it! And thanks to all my friends and family who give amazing support to me personally and to my business.  As Hillary Clinton said “It takes a village” and I certainly have a “village” behind me every step of the way! And last but certainly not least, thanks to all of you who religiously read my blog each day! It gives me great pleasure to have this as another outlet for my creative thoughts, ideas and energies, and knowing that you are interested in them is what keeps me writing!!!!  I wish  you all the most wonderful New Year.  May 2009 be full of health, happiness and prosperity for us all!!! With love, Tobi
