Day 2 of Things I Love…House Beautiful
In a time when shelter magazines are dropping like flies, one magazine in particular stands out as the potential leader in the ever changing print media industry. It isn’t by chance that House Beautiful is doing so well and continues to be a favorite among so many designers and design enthusiasts alike. It is greatly due to the fearless leadership of Editor-in-Chief , Stephen Drucker and his amazing staff.
Now House Beautiful was already one of my top magazine choices, thanks to their full-sized glossy interior images and interesting designer interviews, but it doesn’t hurt our relationship a bit that they decided to put my project on the cover of their March issue with a beautiful 10 page spread inside. Today is Groundhog Day. And like the movie with Bill Murray, I would be willing to live this day of being the House Beautiful cover girl over and over and over again.
Remember when I did the post last year on empire chandeliers and mentioned that I was using this amazing Marjorie Skouras piece in one of my projects? Well here’s how it turned out. My client and I are both thrilled with the gorgeous pop of color paired with the painted hardwood floors. Another Groundhog Day moment I think. I could have breakfast in this gorgeous light-filled space every morning without tiring of the serene color palette.
So on this Day #2 of the Things I Love…House Beautiful!! I love you and I love you for loving me!

Tobi, I am so excited for you! Congratulations! You absolutely deserve this honor. You are talented, tenacious, and kind. Enjoy this wonderful moment! xoxo

Congratulations! My issue arrived yesterday as I was walking out the door. I knew if I took a peak I’d get sucked in and be late to my client appointment. Instead I took it with me and looked at photos while I was at the stop lights! Just beautiful!!!

OMG, I just saw a link from cote de… to you and I have to say your work is lovely, I think the way you use blue is sensational. I wonder where you found that blue scroll rug on the cover of H&G, I wish I could that for our place in Mel Aus! So hard to get decent rugs in Australia for under $5,000! very annoying… anyway I will def be looking out for copy of that mag in Aus and be droolling over your work for weeks!!! well done!
