When thinking about what to wear for my next camping expedition (or should I say Glamping?), I turned to one of my favorite sources for all things fashionable, Cassandra from the blog Coco + Kelley. Now, thanks to Cassandra, camping in style is a breeze! Here’s her delightful post.
I’ll be honest – I never really had a true summer camp experience growing up. My parents sent me to day camp where we rode horses, dabbled in archery, painted portraits and swam in pools. There was no actual camping or really even roughing it involved. Perhaps that’s why I still prefer my outdoor experiences to involve a level of comfort, and I enjoy being able to dress for the occasion! I have to thank Tobi for igniting some inspiration in me for this little list of must-haves – I had so much fun putting it together!
Inspired by a favorite Vogue shoot of mine, I based my summer camp essentials on Keira Knightley’s flowing dresses and ever-present Frye boots as a balance between necessities and luxuries…
I’d be sure to beat the heat in lovely, lightweight layers from the Calypso collection, and protect my pretty little toes in classic Frye boots. A compass necklace will keep me on track when wandering off the beaten path, and I’ll carry the prettiest little axe you ever did see, just in case some firewood chopping is in order. Grilled corn on the cob anyone? The only way to handle them will be with fancy gold corn picks! And at the end of the day we’ll bundle up underneath a very-essential Pendleton blanket for some real stargazing. Summer camp is sounding better already!

Beautiful!! I love calypso..perfect lightweight options! Love the compass necklace too!!Great job Cassandra!
