One of my favorite breakfasts or afternoon snacks is Greek-style yogurt! It’s one of the many things my dear friend Kathy turned me on to! Much creamier than our American version, I buy the plain, non-fat variety for a guilt-free treat! Bon Appetit dishes about this thick and rich healthy food on their website.
Greek Yogurt is just perfect with berries and fruit and a drizzle of honey. Or for me, it’s blueberries, almonds and a dash of splenda! The fabulous cooking blog Nook & Pantry recently did a taste test on one of the Greek-style yogurt brands. See what she thought about it here and find her delicious recipe for fat-free mashed potatoes using greek yogurt.
I love Greek Yogurt for Day #12!!

Love Greek yogurt and just had some Oikos. I became a convert after a trip to Greece two summers ago. Creamy and succulent with fruit and some granola. Thanks for the link to Nook and Pantry. Looks like I’ll be frequenting that blog too!

MMM…I do too…we have a brand here called Liberte, and it’s much like Greek Yogurt, and it’s a staple on grocery lists in our house
I don’t know if I’ve ever tried it, but I ripped out a recipe for orange-banana smoothie popsicles from the June 2009 issue of Country Living mag. I want to serve them at my daughter’s 1st birthday party next month to cut down on the sugar! It uses Greek yogurt, oj concentrate, bananas, and lime juice and they look yummy!!
Yay! I love my readers! You all are so smart and full of knowledge and sources and recipes! I can’t wait to try those popsicles! Thanks Ladies!
Tobi,
try adding a bit of organic granola to your yogurt/fruit/honey mixture. the texture is fantastic, and it makes a great way to start the day.
Yum! Love it! Thanks for the tip & the recipes!
New to your blog, but I am liking the posts!

After purchasing your Grk yogurt, punch holes in the foil top, turn the container upside down either with the top on or over a bowl and allow it to drain. Continue to do this even as you use it. You willl be surprised at the amount of water that drains off each time. Your yogurt will have a firmer, thicker consistency- yum! Your ff yogurt will have considerably more liquid than the regular variety. Try mixing it with Kashi cereal and berries for Belfast or lunch. I don’t fond a need to sweeten, but that is an individual taste. Mmmmmmm
