Modern Mix with Eddie Ross

Posted by

I am busy getting settled in at work after a week at the beach.  Of course that means not much time for blogging, so I wanted to share with you one of my favorite blog posts from last week over at Eddie Ross.

If you didn’t see Eddie’s post called Modern Mix, then you MUST run over and take a look.  Even if you saw it, I think it is worth a second glance.  This guy is a genius with color and with flea market finds.  I want to be Eddie Ross in my next life!

Wish me luck getting caught up this week.

Be back soon! xoxo, Tobi

Bee Line Home by Bunny Williams

Posted by

Bunny Williams’ line of furniture and accessories called Beeline Home is a wonderful collection she has created that I find truly unique.  From traditional to modern, the line includes items inspired by meaningful objects either owned or coveted by Bunny.  The collection is produced in limited editions and will launch new items annually.

The “Nailhead Sofa” is gorgeous.  It’s based on a leather-covered inspiration piece Bunny has in her New York office.  The curved apron with nailhead trim makes it one of the most unique sofas I’ve seen.

The “Garden Panel” in the collection is a large-scale piece with a beautiful hand-carved design.  Measuring in at 60” x 60”, the bas relief plaster work is reminiscent of 1930s plasterwork.

The “Taj Pillow Collection” is hand embroidered in India.  The color palette and designs are absolutely striking.  The designs of the pillows are derived from Italian, Indian and French inspiration.

Beautifully executed, the “Eglomise Coffee Table” has a gilded iron base.  The inset top is Verre églomisé.  From the French term meaning glass gilded, Verre églomisé is a process where the backside of glass is gilded with gold or metal leaf.

I hope you like the Beeline Home collection as much as I do.  It’s the perfect place to find a unique piece to finish off a room.  The wonderful talent of Bunny Williams is apparent in each and every item in this collection!

And don’t forget to leave a comment today to be entered to win an autographed copy of one of Bunny’s great books! The drawing will be held this Friday at noon Central Standard Time.

Good luck!

Day 10 of Things I Love…Bergeres

Posted by

There is nothing prettier and more feminine than a great French Bergere. They work beautifully in both traditional and contemporary settings.

They look so romantic in natural fibers and neutral colors.

But look at the wow factor they create when you add a pop of color.

And in this shocking pink they are va-va-voom!

These beautiful blue bergeres from 1st Dibs are definitely on my wish list!

So all I need to be happy on this 10th day of Things I Love is a gorgeous pair of French bergeres. What about you…which color do you love?

Day 5 of Things I Love…The Eames Lounger

Posted by

I think there are 2 kinds of people in the world…Those who love Eames Lounge Chairs and those who hate them.

I am definitely in the LOVE group. Those sexy curves and handsome wood grains just float my boat. But my dad on the other hand, is on the other side of the fence. Maybe my love and appreciation for the bentwood beauty comes from my furniture design studies. Dad jokes that his opinion is just due to his extremely good taste.

Dad would especially detest this version from the set of Gossip Girls covered in Missoni flame stitch. I think the only thing he likes less than the Eames Lounger is flame stitch. Though not a fan of the retro zigzag pattern either, I find this reincarnation of the Eames sort of urban and cool.

On this, the 5th day of the Things I Love series, I am going with the Eames lounge chair because I think it is the bee’s knees! What do you think?
