Tobi Fairley Gallery…Now Open

My new gallery space and design showroom opened with a bang last Thursday night. Even in torrential rains, our dedicated clients, friends and fans came out and joined us for a standing-room only event.

A pair of Steve Martin embossed nudes were a huge hit and set the stage for the party as the front window displays.

One of the crowd favorites was the autumn-inspired painting by Matt McLeod called Sienna Road.

My favorite Schumacher print, Hot House Flowers, is a stunner in our new space.

An Andy Reed landscape graces the mantel paired with a Robyn Horn wood sculpture and a Rod Moorhead Stone nude.

Sheila Cotton’s Swan Painting was definitely a highlight of the show.

These Rod Moorhead nudes were the inspiration for our Asian Lanterns for this show. The gallery is designed with the capability to change out the lighting fixtures for each event to create a variety of looks and themes.

The exhibition side of the gallery will be used for art events showcasing one particular artist. For this opening gala, we showcased a piece or two of the best works from each artist.

Another favorite at the event, this Sheila Cotton Hydrangea painting.

What a treat to have a full bar in the new gallery space. It makes for a great party!

Many guest raved about the comfortable atmosphere of the new space. The fireplace, the bar and the gorgeous designer furnishings mimic a home atmosphere and the guest seemed to want to “sit and stay a while”. I would say there is no bigger compliment than this. We invite you all to come share a glass of wine with us while you browse these gorgeous original works of art and furnishings.

If you like some of the artwork you see here, please check out our Tobi Fairley Gallery website, and look for upcoming art shows and the announcement of many new accomplished artists that are joining our Tobi Fairley family.

Meet, Greet and Tweet

I am so excited to be hosting a “Tweet-up” at High Point Market with Soicher Marin Art Company. Ed Marin is one of the more progressive thinkers in the design industry and a huge proponent of social media. So it is natural that Ed would want to participate in one of the first “Tweet-ups” to come to high point. Check out the Soicher Marin Blog called Soicher Marin Says for all the exciting new things they are doing.

If you are going to be at market, please join us at the tweet up. You can RSVP if you would like by going here. And if not, just stop by. We would love to Meet, Greet and Tweet with you and show you all the amazing products that Soicher Marin has to offer.

And be sure to follow Ed http://twitter.com/marinceo and me http://twitter.com/tobifairley on twitter for the details of the event and real-time posts during the tweet-up. Hope to see you soon.

A Colorful Surprise

What a nice surprise to find my work in Color Made Easy this week. A photo of my bedroom from my previous home is the lead photo for the section on red.

These photos were taken 3-4 years ago along with the rest of my previous home for a Better Homes and Garden’s Coffee Table book on color. Just before it was supposed to come out, the Book Division went under as one of the first cuts of this economic downtown. So a nice little surprise to catch a glimpse of it in this current edition on news stands now. Below are a couple of other shots of what the room looked like.

This room was designed in my late twenties and was my first home.

Thanks BH&G for my little “happy”. xoxo
