KATV Design Time: I’m Speaking Greek!

Posted by

Of course you already know all about my LOVE for Greek Key. To me it isn’t a trend, but a pattern that’s as classic as a Chanel suit! That’s what I talked about today, on Good Morning Arkansas!

Greek Key can be masculine and stately, but it’s also so clean and geometric and versatile!

It can give a design structure, like in the Richmond showhouse project I’ve shared with you before… (how many Greek Keys can YOU find?!)

And it is also gorgeous as a delicate detail, like on this glamorous tableskirt in my Lenox Hill tabletop design!

It makes a lovely border on these outdoor rugs!

And did someone say…Chanel?

And here’s my segment if you missed it so you can hear exactly why I love Greek Key and how to use it…

Tobi Fairley: Decorating with Greek Key.

Here are some of my past posts on Greek Key goodies, for your enjoyment!

It’s All in the Details…

It’s always flattering to have another designer use your fabrics in their projects  – especially when it turns out looking as fabulous as this room by Shay Geyer!

She used my Athens pattern as the leading edge for these gorgeous drapery panels — proving that it really is all in the details! I love using unexpected, thoughtful touches like this to pull a room together and put an unexpected twist on a project.

While Shay used the Athens pattern in Charcoal, there are tons of colorways and pattern options that could create the same look.

You can read more about her work and this project in this month’s issue of Grand Luxe magazine and on her blog.

Special thanks to Shay for sharing this!

Color Combo of the Month: Flamingo & Kelly

Posted by

Hi Friends & Happy Monday!

For the past couple of months, it has been fun to share a couple of my favorite color combos with you and then some great coordinating products later in that month.

In April, I was in love with Navy & Pool and last month Ruby & White was hot. For June, I’m definitely feeling a little preppy and thought why not make it a month of pink and green…or Flamingo & Kelly to be exact.

I love this pairing because it reminds me not only of preppy patterns, but also summer — like a juicy watermelon or a strawberry margarita with lime garnish! Yum!

Of course, if you’ve taken a peek at my pillow collection, you may have already noticed that I’m pretty fond of this duo…

Oh, and orange and white look pretty good with this pair, too! Don’t you think?
Stay tuned for more Flamingo & Kelly finds later this month.

Color Combo: Navy and Pool

Posted by

You know me, I love color. I mean, I REALLY REALLY love color and my recent trip to Marrakech just intensified it!! While I was researching Morocco, I found tons of gorgeous images that proves they love color, too — and lots of it! I can’t wait to recap my travels and share the experience with you, but in the meantime I wanted to share a particular color combo that seemed to emerge from my research.

After browsing sites and finding tons of rich, bold colors, I noticed that in all the architectural shots I found, I was gravitating toward a really cool combo of blues — rich navy and refreshing pool!

For the love of mosaic tile!!!!!

What a serene palette of navy, cobalt and intoxicating shade of pool!  This brings me to my next dose of Moroccan inspiration:  the combination of a lounge and blues.  What better combination could there be?!

I could kick back with a book and glass of wine on this lounge….just saying.

Afternoon swim here? Don’t mind if I do!!

I just love the colors of the sky when the sun has just set….

With all of these gorgeous places and spaces, I couldn’t resist pulling some of my blue finds to share with you…

1.  Moroccan Tiles / 2.  duVal-Alexander Sofa, McKinnon & Harris / 3.  Tobi Fairley Home Collection Pillows, Marrakech and custom Bistro Stripe / 4.  Oslo Chandelier, Shine Home / 5.  Moroccoan Boxes / 6.  Moorish Side Table, Shine Home / 7.  Vintage Moroccan Rug

Are you loving this combo as much I am??

Traditional Home Features My Richmond Showhouse Project

Posted by

Wow! I am so excited to be featured in the most recent issue of Traditional Home. The Richmond Symphony Showhouse was one of my favorite projects and I’m so happy to see this project gracing the pages of the April issue.

I loved this project, because I had a chance to expand my horizons and use many of my own fabrics, as well as some lighting! The large red lantern hanging over the entry table is the Rothesay lantern from my home line. I chose red for this particular scheme, but it can be ordered in any custom shade to match your decor.

I was also thrilled to use fabrics from home line in this entry room. I selected the Athens print in Sky for the sofa to set the tone for the Greek influence you see throughout the space.

I also used this Marrakech pattern in Sky and Ruby for the rolling ottomans you see by the entry table. Isn’t this a fun pattern? I love it in every color combo!!

Finally, I used a custom red-white-and-blue Bistro stripe on a small footstool to echo the room’s overall color scheme.

It is truly a dream to be able to use my designs in a space like this and I am so grateful to Traditional Home for including this space in their April issue.

xo,

-Tobi

P.S. If you are in Arizona for spring market, don’t miss my presentation this morning at the Arizona Design Center!! Hope to see you there!
