I am so happy to announce that I will have a new furniture collection with Woodbridge Furniture that will debut at the October High Point Market! The Tobi Fairley for Woodbridge line will launch with a great introduction of 10-12 pieces this fall, and a larger collection will be introduced at the April 2016 Market. The Tobi Fairley for Woodbridge Collection will include a selection of case goods from side tables and dining tables to desks, chests, consoles and dining chairs.

The Ellison Cocktail Table from the Tobi Fairley for Woodbridge Collection

This may not be a big surprise to some of you if you were at the High Point Market last April. We tested a couple of my designs with Woodbridge, like the blush and charcoal Ellison cocktail table with the gold leaf border that you can see in the photos above. Isn’t it gorgeous? And how about the table I designed below with the green top and curvy legs? This fun piece with a matching console and cocktail version will be available in a variety of colors. The best part is Woodbridge allowed me to bring my creative vision to pieces I couldn’t find out in the marketplace. And I think Woodbridge really knocked it out of the park creating them for me, don’t you?

You know I love to work with partners who are collaborative and share a vision that we’re both ready to work hard to execute – and the Woodbridge team is exactly that type of partner. Co-founders Watts Humphrey and Kevin Hinshaw are fantastic guys to work with, and their young company is really a hidden gem that offers incredible quality and expertise! The vision I’ll bring to our partnership is fashion-forward design that fits the way people want to live today. It’s a win-win!

Another of my “test tables” that I designed with Woodbridge.

The Woodbridge designs will also coordinate fantastically with my upholstery collection for CR Laine and my artwork for Soicher Marin. And the wood pieces will really round out my licensed lines. It brings my dream of a full Tobi Fairley licensed home group closer to coming true! Stay tuned for more!

And come see me at the High Point Market this fall – we’ll have a lot to show you!

Bring the Drama!

Posted by

So far, I’ve shown you my new collections for CR Laine and Soicher Marin that were in my Blushing Beauty and City Sophisticate color schemes. Now it’s time to bring the drama with my bold and bright Drama Queen group! I’m known for color, and these bold splashes of orange, magenta, and green were probably what most people envisioned my collection would be.

I also love to mix patterns, so this area showcased stripes, faux bois, and Greek key to put even more POW into the display! My Taylor sofa was actually low-key here (remember it as a sectional in tweed?), and the fabulous CR Laine swivel chair and ottoman highlighted the color story of orange and magenta. Love that stripe on the chair! And the simple circle of black on a white ground in the art is also mine – from my Soicher Marin collection.

I also love anything with function, so I designed the fully-upholstered Tobin table so an ottoman can tuck right up under it. Then you can pull it out when you need extra seating for guests. And there is that great starburst pattern in nailhead on the side of Tobin, like it was on those gorgeous Stella screens.

Can you believe that’s my Wells wing chair again? You saw it last week in the City Sophisticate group in that luscious mint velvet with an embroidered nonogram on the back. Here it takes on a whole new personality in a grey and orange Greek key patterned fabric with pale grey legs. It really pulls out the color in the Soicher Marin art I designed, too.

Speaking of drama, these Alexander chairs really make a grand entrance, don’t they? That magenta fabric was so fabulous against the Greek key pattern on the back of each chair. And in the background you can see one of the most popular pieces from my new Soicher Marin collection, the huge pink wash art that’s propped against the wall. The blue version of that art was a top seller, too!

My Marguerite armless sofa really is one of my favorites in the whole collection! The orange wool was a big hit, and was the perfect background for the starburst nailhead trim and those fantastic acrylic legs. The bolster is strapped and can be removed, or moved on the sofa so you have an armrest wherever you need it. Another fantastic thing about this piece is that it is sized for dining – so you can use it as a banquette, too! The orange inkblots on the wall are part of my Soicher Marin collection, and they are available in orange or black. I love the name: What Do You See?

Last, but certainly not least when it comes to the DRAMA quotient, is the Hampton chaise, which was a HUGE hit at market! It was also a great place to collapse after a long day in the showroom – especially on that soft snakeskin velvet in platinum, which I named Hissy Fit! These are built for snuggling and are incredibly comfortable. My favorite comment about these from the entire market was that someone thought they should be called the Binge Watching Chaise because you would be comfortable in them for a whole weekend of Netflix!

So did that group bring the drama, or what?! I have to say that working with CR Laine and Soicher Marin was far from a drama, though! They are dream partners and really did make a dream come true for me. And again, I’m so appreciative of partners who allowed us to use their products to finish off our looks – like Woodbridge, Tritter Feefer, Currey & Company, Barbara Cosgrove, Times Two Design, Colleen & Company, Mirror Image, Chelsea House, and Surya.

Did you see any that were favorites for you? If you are interested in anything you’ve seen here, just go to CR Laine’s website here, or Soicher Marin’s site here. And leave me a comment below to tell me what you think about my new collections! Can’t wait to show you even more in October! WHEW!

Big City, Big Sophistication

Posted by

Last week, I showed you my new collections for CR Laine and Soicher Marin that were in my Blushing Beauty color scheme. This week, we’re heading to a more metropolitan destination with my City Sophisticate group! For these designs, I was inspired by my collections of Jadeite – mint green glassware that I’ve been in love with for years. I also wanted to showcase how fashion-forward it can be when combined with navy and pale blue, with a few touches of lavender thrown in!

The entry to the CR Laine showroom during High Point Market showed off my new Elle chair – named for my daughter – and the fantastic velvet Stella screens with starburst patterns in nailhead trim! We mixed in a white sofa and one of my favorite ottomans from CR Laine’s own lines to finish off the look, as well as a blue watercolor from my new collection with Soicher Marin.

Here is that amazing Elle chair again, in leather with brass arms and nailhead trim across the back. CR Laine is known for their attention to every detail and for adding comfort, which took my designs to a whole new level! My daughter was so proud of this chair that she kept asking me what her cut of any sales would be! HA! You can see us trying out the chair here:

I also introduced a daybed as part of my CR Laine collection – it’s something that I’m always searching for as a designer, and have a lot of trouble finding! I love the blue moire that covers this Sheridan daybed, it reminds me of the faux bois patterns. And this daybed provides a lot of function, too, since it does double duty as seating or as a bed! It’s even designed to take a fitted twin sheet right over the seat cushion.

The shape on the back of the daybed is one that I love, so I also used it on the back of my new Izzy dining chair! This chair has a deeply padded back that is SO comfortable!

In the last City Sophisticate area, I went a little to the dark side. Don’t worry! I just mean darker blue – navy to be exact. The walls added great dimension and were the perfect background to the chinoiserie panels that are part of my art collection for Soicher Marin. The Taylor sectional is shown here in a tweed, mixed with animal print and solid pillows. That sectional (and it’s partner sofa) were big sellers during market! I think everyone loved the tufted seat and CR Laine’s comfort quotient. I also designed the velvet wing chairs you see to the left in the photo below. And the vignette was made perfect with the addition of CR Laine’s stunning ottoman and slipper chairs!

Here is a closer look at the Wells wing chair, with the bigger barrels below the arm and a fabulous embroidered “nonogram,” on the back. That’s a monogram without any initials, in case you were wondering! I love a good wing chair and this is my new fave!

This was such a fun group, too, and I’m so excited about how it was received! I’m also really appreciative of partners who allowed us to use their products to finish off our looks – like the lamps from Currey & Company and Barbara Cosgrove, accessories from Times Two Design, rugs from Surya, and tables from Woodbridge.

Next week, I’ll show you the Drama Queen group that will really make a statement! And if you want to take the quiz to see which group fits your personality, just click here!

Meanwhile, have you seen a favorite piece of my new collections yet? Be sure to tell me which one you have to take home in the comments below! These groups will be arriving in retail stores near you in just a few weeks!

I’m Blushing Over These Beauties!

Posted by

The High Point Market wrapped last week, and it was an amazing whirlwind! I was so happy to see how well my new CR Laine collection of upholstery was received – the showroom was packed and the orders were being written at lightning speed!

For those of you who weren’t able to attend the market, I know I’ve teased you for weeks about the three color stories that we showcased – Blushing Beauty, City Sophisticate, and Drama Queen – so I thought I would show you each collection. This week, we’ll look at the Blushing Beauty group – featuring the fashion-forward blush color!

I loved mixing the sweet blush color with the tangy citron, which gave it a nice balance and kept it from going too feminine or “precious.” In the group above, you see the Julianne sofa, the Helen slipper chair, the Lena ottoman, and the Stella screen. I also designed the blush table with gold leaf with a fabulous company called Woodbridge Furniture. It was so much fun to work with them, that I might just have to do it again!

The Julianne is a Sheraton-style sofa, but unlike the vintage design, this one is super-comfortable! And I love the details here, like the starburst pattern on the nailhead trim of the screen, and the Greek key carvings on the base of both the slipper chair and the ottoman. The art above the sofa is part of my new collection with Soicher Marin, another fabulous partner!

This bedroom area in the CR Laine showroom was a big hit! We had quite a few people who said they wanted to pick up this vignette and put the whole thing in their own bedrooms at home! The Lucy upholstered bed and the leather Beverly bench are both from my collection with CR Laine, and the art is from my Soicher Marin line. I’m also really appreciative of partners who allowed us to borrow product to finish off our looks – like the lamps from Currey & Company, the mirror from Mirror Image, rug from Surya, the bedding from Eastern Accents, and the bedside tables from Woodbridge.

The Lucy is fully upholstered all the way to the floor with no boxing wooden foot, which gives it such a luxurious look! And that blush leather on the Beverly bench was to-die-for!

I loved the Blushing Beauty group in my Tobi Fairley for CR Laine collection, and I am so happy that it was a success at market! I can’t wait to see it in stores in just a few weeks, and in people’s homes! I’m already planning to put these designs in some of my own new projects.

Next week, I’ll show you the City Sophisticate group. And if you want to take the quiz to see which group fits your personality, just click here!

My New Collaboration with C.R. Laine Furniture

Posted by

I know it’s Tuesday and I know you are expecting my latest episode of Tobi TV but today I have bigger news! I am thrilled to announce that I have a VERY exciting partnership with one of my favorite upholstery companies, C.R. Laine. I will be creating a furniture collection to launch in April 2015 at the High Point Furniture Market with this amazing family-owned company that is based in Hickory, North Carolina.

My friends at the Editor at Large captured all the details about our unique collaboration perfectly, so you can read all about it here including an interview with me. And even though we have to wait until April for my collection to debut, I have been helping C.R. Laine redesign their “Bistro” in their High Point showroom so if you are a designer, come by and see their newly expanded showroom, their new cafe and say hello at market this October!  C.R. Laine and I look forward to seeing you there soon.

And for all you design-lovers out there who love my design style, I’ll be bringing you sneak peeks of our collaboration in the coming months.  And look for my C.R. Laine upholstery collection coming to retailers near you by Summer 2015.

Tobi Signature

P.S. I’ll be back with another episode of Tobi TV really soon. But check back here tomorrow for a BIG giveaway! You’re going to love it.
