Mad about Plaid…

Posted by

Happy National Tartan Day!!

How are we celebrating? With our good friend Scot Meacham Wood and his One Kings Lane sale, of course!!

As a longtime lover of all things plaid and author of the popular blog, Tartanscot™, Scot is the only person I know who’s so well-versed in plaid that he can curate an entire collection of fabulous finds. He’s also a very talented designer and is the owner of Scot Meacham Wood Design in San Francisco. As you can see he knows how to use plaid in just the right dose for any space!

So, happy early weekend my friends! I’m sure our virtual shopping carts will pass each other as we hurry to snatch up these one-of-a-kind finds.

Happy Shopping!

Pastels Popping Up Everywhere!

Posted by

Last fall I had the great privilege of being a Style Spotter at High Point Market and ended up winning the contest!! I had such a great time walking around, snapping away to capture the latest trends. I was super excited when I was asked to spot some of this spring’s hottest trends for a recent story with High Point. Once again, going back to this 2012’s Pantone color of the year, Tangerine Tango, I spotted pastels being paired with this bold shade everywhere! I especially love this color with a soft lilac!

There’s something very refreshing about this combo. I think because it’s a balanced, yet vivacious mix that won’t overpower your space. Here are a few of my favorite finds from Serena and Lily that could bring this combo into your home.

1. Persimmon Wall Paint   2. Plum/Putty Diamond Throw Pillow  3. Lilac Wall Paint  4. Plum Herringbone Throw  5. Pimento French Ring Sheet Set  6. “Are You That Happy” Painting by Paule Dubois Dupuis  7. Rope Bin Collection – Orange  8. Pumpkin Border Frame Rug

Tickled Pink

Nothing makes me want to pull out the pink more than Spring. I think it’s safe to say that “Mini Me” isn’t the only girl at the Fairley house that adores this feminine shade. Pink is a great color to pop into your home or wardrobe because of its versatility. It can be chic and soft or bold and playful! Which kind of pink are you?

Custom calling cards are a perfect way to express your personality! There are so many different designs, colors, and fonts from which to choose. Some cards are simple and some more elaborate, it all depends on what your personal style!

I have to admit I’m a girl with an addiction to beautiful, well crafted paper goods!  Calling cards, stationery, invitations, menu cards, placecards…  You get the idea.  I can never have enough and love to give them as gifts!

Here are some great ideas from Etsy. Enjoy!

Simple and chic.  The graphic is so appealing!  I love this calling card from Brittany Lauren Design.

The Calligraphy Two Color calling card by Della Carta Studio is sophisticated and elegant! Beautiful script on one side with a fun damask pattern on the other.

These Modern Quatrefoil calling cards from Flair Designery are perfect for the stylish business woman.

This yellow and navy calling card created by Color Links is another example of a modern take on a calling card! A trendy pattern on the background with an ever classic monogram in the center.

The Italian Scallop calling card is on trend with its quatrefoil pattern. The pops of aqua make a true color statement.  Another great design from Flair Designery.

One of my all time favorite Etsy shops is Pixelimpress – “Seriously Cute Paper Goods.”  Great designs and a wonderful product!  Pictured above is the Chevron Ombre Calling Cards.  The shades of color remind me of paint color fan deck.  FABULOUS!
