Pastels Popping Up Everywhere!

Last fall I had the great privilege of being a Style Spotter at High Point Market and ended up winning the contest!! I had such a great time walking around, snapping away to capture the latest trends. I was super excited when I was asked to spot some of this spring’s hottest trends for a recent story with High Point. Once again, going back to this 2012′s Pantone color of the year, Tangerine Tango, I spotted pastels being paired with this bold shade everywhere! I especially love this color with a soft lilac!

There’s something very refreshing about this combo. I think because it’s a balanced, yet vivacious mix that won’t overpower your space. Here are a few of my favorite finds from Serena and Lily that could bring this combo into your home.

1. Persimmon Wall Paint   2. Plum/Putty Diamond Throw Pillow  3. Lilac Wall Paint  4. Plum Herringbone Throw  5. Pimento French Ring Sheet Set  6. “Are You That Happy” Painting by Paule Dubois Dupuis  7. Rope Bin Collection – Orange  8. Pumpkin Border Frame Rug

A Fabulous Night with Mrs. Howard + Designer MBA Camp Continues!

Hi Friends,
I’m about to head off to our second day of Designer MBA Camp, but wanted to give you a quick recap of our fabulous event last night with Phoebe Howard.

Everyone had such a great time at Cobblestone & Vine. At one point, I looked around and there were literally tables of people devouring their copies of The Joy of Decorating!!

It is a beautiful book and I’m so happy Phoebe and her daughter were able to come to Little Rock for a signing. Thanks to At Home in Arkansas for co-hosting this event with us and Cobblestone & Vine!

Like I said, today is day two of my first-ever Designer MBA Camp. Yesterday, we went IN-DEPTH with each camper’s business and had some really honest and open Q&A time. I think all of our campers will agree they walked away with some major building blocks to help them grow their business in 2012!

And…it’s not over yet! There’s still plenty more in store over the course of the next two days. Follow my twitter account (@tobifairley) or #designcamp to see more about what we’re learning.

If you weren’t able to join us for this Designer MBA Camp, we have two more upcoming opportunities for camps and consulting groups.

Our next Design Camp A-Z will be May 16-18. This is a camp for everyone — whether you’ve been a designer for years and want to brush up on your skills or you’ve never designed a room and want to learn the foundation principles.

Sign up before April 15 and get our Early Bird Special —- Only $1,999!!

If you’re looking for more in-depth business coaching, join my Mastermind group.
Our next on-site session will be in June, so there’s still time to sign up and whenever you sign up, you receive a full year of personalized coaching for the next 12 months from that date. Click here to learn more about this opportunity or email brooke@tobifairley.com to sign up today.

Wish me luck on day 2!!

xo,

-Tobi

Essie Color Inspiration

You know I love color! Maybe, that’s why I’m in love with all of the vibrant colors in Essie’s 2012 spring collection. These little bottles of nail polish go to show that nothing is too small to inspire a big transformation! I love the palette so much that I decided to match each color with some favorite spaces that I’ve spotted recently.

To see more on Essie’s spring collection, click here. To read more about the inspiration photos pictured, click on the corresponding links below.

Color makes me happy? Don’t you agree?

Tobi’s Tuesday Tip

Hi Friends,

It’s a super busy week around Tobi Fairley Interior Design and Associates as we are getting ready to welcome our Designer MBA campers tomorrow. My team and I will spend the next 3 days inspiring and educating these other talented and savvy designers on how to seize the day and take their businesses to the next level. I know they can do it and when they leave on Friday, they will know they can too!

I always include some of my favorite quotes in our camp, consulting, and coaching materials for inspiration, so thought I would share one with you today…

“We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.”

– Jim Rohn, Motivational Coach

If you followed my goals, plans, and dreams for 2012, you know my main focus this year is Discipline. So my Tuesday tip is this…

You likely already know exactly what you need to know to achieve all your goals and dreams, but you just aren’t practicing them every, single day to get consistent results.

What are those things that you “know” you should be doing but just aren’t? I would love to hear from you. Plus putting things out in the universe keeps you accountable, right? So tell me, which will it be…discipline or regret?

A Chat With Phoebe Howard

Hello Friends! Today I’m excited to share a quick chat with Phoebe Howard.

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Phoebe is the author of the recently released book, The Joy of Decorating. She will be joining us in Little Rock this Wednesday for a book signing and launch party at Cobblestone & Vine in Pleasant Ridge.

In anticipation of her visit, I thought it would be fun for the two of us to have a quick e-chat. Of course, if we were able to have this conversation in person, we would be sipping some delicious concoction in a fabulous room or restaurant, so I started by finding out just how Phoebe envisioned this chat…

What we’re sipping…A lemon drop martini – refreshing and light for summer!

Where we’re sitting…On a kidney-shaped loveseat.

Tobi Fairley: Is this your first trip to Little Rock?

Phoebe Howard: I have been one time previously and had dinner at P. Allen Smith’s house. It was a wonderful evening that I will never forget!

TF: What was your favorite part of writing The Joy of Decorating?

PH: Revisiting all of the houses I decorated through visual memories on the pages!!

TF: Do you have a favorite room/space featured in the book?

PH: Yes, there is one family room I love. The room has a big arched window and stone wall. It feels warm, relaxed and understated and simple. My favorite!

TF: I’m sure it was hard to choose one! Here are a few of your designs that I love:

Thanks to Phoebe for this quick chat. It makes me even more excited to see the book and talk with her more about the inspiration. Here are the event details:
