28 Days of Love: Day Fifteen – Monogram Necklace

I’m not one to turn-up my nose at a monogram; no way! I’m all about personalization, whether it’s in interiors or, in this case, on jewelry! Ever since Sarah Jessica Parker rocked the “Carrie” necklace when she played that role on Sex in the City, I’ve been interested in the idea of jewelry that is 100% personalized. I’m especially LOVING this monogrammed necklace from Moon and Lola.

The idea of having a monogram embroidered on towels, pillows, clothes, etc. just really turns some people off. I suspect that it’s because it seems self-centered or materialistic to people who understand it as a status symbol. But from MY perspective, a monogram or engraving is all about making an item that might belong to anyone a true one-of-a-kind. And not just unique; uniquely YOURS! Monograms and other ways of personalizing are also a brilliant way to make any gift you give even more personal and thoughtful.

So, if you’re inclined, embrace the monogram; say your name ALOUD to the world! “Hello, world, it’s me, Tobi!” Give it a try, you might just like it.
