Winging my Way to Dallas!

Posted by

Illustration: Jen Troyer,

Well, Hello lovely readers!

As I write this, I am on a plane to Dallas. That’s right! My first official trip since we announced our new office there this week. But I have to admit, I have another great reason for trekking down to the Big D today: OPRAH!

Oh yeah, baby! I am going to see my all-time favorite celebrity and amazing spiritual power woman.  I will be in the live audience of a double-header Life Class recording with Oprah and the Reverend T.D. Jakes today and I hear there may be other surprise guests. Eek!

And this is on the heels of my trip to Chicago earlier this week to see another favorite spiritual guru of mine, Mastin Kipp, author of The Daily Love. I am seriously pinching myself that I am seeing two of my favorite mentors all in one week.

Coincidentally, Oprah is replaying her Super Soul Series featuring Mastin and his buddies Gabrielle Berstein and Marie Forleo this Sunday. So if you don’t know Mastin, allow Oprah to introduce you this weekend. I’ll be bringing you details of my time with Mastin (and 100 others in Chicago) in a few days. And of course, I will fill you in on my Oprah experience too.

Illustration: Jen Troyer,

All this excitement (a new Dallas office, Yoga with Mastin Kipp, and the Soul Series with Oprah) in one week just has me feeling uber-grateful and generous.  And as Mastin would teach, I want to share the LOVE with each of you.

So I am pulling out ALL the stops on some AMAZING deals on my upcoming Fall line-up of camps and courses.  I am getting so crazy with our pricing that my staff will definitely think I have lost my mind, that is…until they remember that I’ve been hanging this week with some of the most generous and loving humans on earth. I mean remember when Oprah gave everyone a car for goodness sakes?

So I am not quite giving you a car, but if you have been thinking of coming to Arkansas for a signature Tobi Fairley event, NOW is definitely the time to take the leap! Let me tell you why…

Illustration: Jen Troyer,

For a limited time and a limited number of seats (10 per camp), I am offering crazy-good pricing and something I have NEVER done before—a payment plan! Here’s the deal: For the first 10 of you to register for each camp, you get to bring a friend for only $500!! This deal is available for any of my Little Rock events in 2013, even my MBA camp which is our most popular event!

So jump right on over to my Camp Tobi Fairley blog and read all the details and be one of the first to sign up while space lasts.  Here’s what our Fall and Winter offerings look like…

BIG NEWS: Tobi Fairley and Associates comes to BIG D

Posted by

I am SO excited to announce that Tobi Fairley and Associates is making a move. Well it’s actually more of an expansion. While I will still have my home base right here in Little Rock, Arkansas, as Truvy says in my favorite Southern movie Steel Magnolias… “I’m a chain!”

That’s right, after a year of having one of my Team Tobi members working with us remotely out of the Dallas area, we are officially setting up shop there to make it easier to work with our design clients and consulting clients in Texas, many of whom are located in Dallas and it’s surrounding areas. And of course we are excited to not only work with existing clients but to grow in the Texas market as we continue to expand all parts of our business both in the interior design category and in business consulting for creatives.

Our new digs are just about ready for Tobi Fairley & Associates to hit the ground running in the sought-after Historic Uptown area. I will be visiting the new design studio again in just a couple of days to approve the finishing touches, located in Maple Terrace, a premier historic building designed in 1927 by English architect Alfred Bossum. The iconic Dallas site has had prestigious residents such as Judy Garland, Elvis Presley, Todd Oldham, and Liza Minelli, and is today known for its strong artist and design community. So we can hardly wait to be a part of it.

Let’s Celebrate! I am so excited to open another location for our business and I can’t wait to be in Dallas each month allowing me to be more involved in the design community there and attend industry events. I have so many close friends in the Dallas design industry and am thrilled this move will allow me to collaborate with these talented and creative designer friends and industry partners even more. This expansion is something I’ve considered for many years and since we are going into our 15th anniversary year, I felt like the timing was just right. It is amazing to have had such growth in our company and we look forward to continuing that growth now in Texas.

The Dallas area is a natural fit for us because it is a vibrant community that is growing at a fast pace, and it’s still so close to our Little Rock home base. My love of design began with an introduction to the industry from my great aunt and cousin who were designers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area during my childhood. I spend much time there during summers going on design project site visits with them. It’s when I fell in love with the profession. Plus, being a BIG Arkansas Razorback sports fan, Dallas is a second home base for “Hog Fans” and has been since the days we were in the Southwest Conference during my childhood. I have spent many a New Year in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl for a big game! And finally many, many native Arkansans live in Dallas and I am so happy to make it easier to work with these friends and contacts of ours living there.

So how will our business work? Well, there will now be two full-time associates in my new Tobi Fairley Interior Design studio. And I will be there part of each month to work with clients and my Dallas team. So if you want to set up an appointment to meet with me for Interior Design or Business consulting in the Dallas area, you can call us today. Our contact number for the new office is 972-996-6655. And of course you can still always reach us at

Want to know what our business consulting is all about? Well in addition to my interior design business, as many of you know, I recently redesigned my life and my brand, launching Tobi Fairley & Associates as a full-service consulting and design company. In addition to designing gorgeous and functional interiors, TFA provides custom-tailored education, enlightened mentoring, and common-sense tools to help companies and design firms improve their business. It encompasses our Design Camps, signature courses like Designer MBA and Design from A to Z, plus webinars and telecalls, information products and much more. We will be launching our all-new and expanded Tobi Fairley and Associates website in just a few weeks. And to see our Fall line-up of courses on design and the business of design, take a look here. Wow! So much going on, huh?

So thank you to Big D for allowing us to be a new part of your design community. I think you are FABULOUS, and I can’t wait to dive right back in to a city that has always felt like a second home to me.

It was an action packed day including wardrobe changes, camera crews, script ad-libbing  and photo styling. Plus we threw in a bit of horsing around to keep things fun.

So stay tuned for air dates for these fun and informative segments with P. Allen Smith on all things design.
