Day 18: Guest Post-Bringing the Vacation Home with Shop Ten 25

In honor of the weekend, I’m happy to welcome my friend Abbe of StudioTen25 and her vacation-inspired designs. You may not be able to take a vacation every weekend, but these fun Nantucket-inspired ideas will certainly make you feel like your home is a retreat! Enjoy! xoxo, Tobi

Hello to all of you! My name is Abbe and I am an interior designer and owner of the online boutique Shop Ten 25.  I am such a huge fan of Tobi’s Blog and her gorgeous design work, so this is a real treat! My shop is all about fab decor finds and attainable luxuries, so today I am thrilled to share this Nantucket-inspired post.

The East Coast is one of my favorite vacation spots and I would love to bring this vacation look into my home everyday. Here are a few ways you can get a modern version of this look.

It’s easy to see how adding in a few of the style’s staple pieces can transform your room easily. You can bring nature in by choosing weathered finishes for a windswept look, as well as pieces that are a reflection of the landscape, such as driftwood and sisal. Think simple, easy and inexpensive. Slip covers and painted wood floors are common of homes in this area. This first look shows you how a soothing tonal palette can be modernized with simple graphics and rich textures.

1. Ring Sculpture / 2. Bonnet Chair / 3. Graphic Pillow / 4. Diamond Pillow / 5. Taos Rug / 6. Wood Side Table / 7. Driftwood Lamp

If you like a bit more color, try using the island’s soothing color palette as your jumping off point. Sun-bleached whites, cranberry bog reds, sea-grass greens, gray blues and sunny yellows are sure to create the classic Nantucket look. Layer your space with a sleek leather chair, colorful rug or glass pendant light for a more refined modern look.

1. Glass Lantern / 2. Ella Wood Sculpture / 3. Butterfly Lumbar Pillow / 4. Dickinson Club Chair / 5. Terrene Green and Cream Rug / 6. Garden Stool / 7. Bodega Mirror

I hope you’ve enjoyed these Nantucket-inspired looks. Special thanks to Tobi for having me!
