Hi Friends! I hope you’re enjoying this series as much as I am. Grant Gibson of Grant K. Gibson Interiors is here to share with us today. I was fortunate to spend time with Grant in Marrakech this past spring and I got to visit with him on a recent trip to San Francisco! Speaking of travel…he’s sharing some fabulous advice! Enjoy! xo, Tobi

“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”
Some of the best advice I ever received was to travel. It is a way to learn about new places and cultures and to find new inspiration.
I think that it all started for me at an early age. My parents took me on many trips around the world. Additionally, I was a foreign exchange student in high school in Finland and then studied in England for a year in college.
Just a few months ago, I had the chance to travel to Morocco – where Tobi and I got to have lots of fun together!

No matter where I travel, I love taking photos…

- This is a self portrait I took in Venice at Dodie Rosekran’s Palazzo.

- A beautiful shot from a seaplane here in my hometown of San Francisco.

I especially love to take pictures of doorknockers! Check part of my collection here. In fact, I gathered so many images and have such a fascination with doorknockers that The New York Times even did a story on this last year.
Some other recent trips include a trip to Colombia. It was my first time to South America, and I can’t wait to go back!
My passport is always ready to go…

What’s next up for me?? Cuba, Russia, Kenya and India!
I hope you’re inspired to travel the world and see things in a new light!
-Grant

On my to do list, travel more. Love the doorknockers. Thanks for sharing.
I LUV vacation photos “blown up” and displayed…easily changed and not that expensive. Play with it! franki
Cuba and Russia are a must go!! I’ve had great experiences and memories there.
