What are people reading in the South?
Well there are the traditional Faulkner novels that everyone from your local grocer to your great uncle seem to know by heart.
There are recipe books, worn with the ingredients of well-loved recipes.

There are new novels by authors such as Rick Bragg, Kathryn Stockett and Mary Kay Andrews, that inspire us, bring us to tears and cause us to laugh out loud on our front porch swings.

Then there are staples such as Southern Living magazine — or the Bible as some might say! Which leads me to the next great thing Southerners are reading…”The Daily South.”

Dubbed as ‘Your Hub for Southern Culture,’ “The Daily South” is a blog devoted to the latest and greatest in our region. It’s kitchen-tested/editor-approved recipes. It’s where to shop and what to buy. It’s travel secrets exposed. It’s the South at its best!

As a Southerner I’d like to invite you to head on over and read one of the inaugural posts which features 10 of my must-have items for any Southern home (or any home for that matter!!).
