Hi Tobi! I have a question for the Ask Tobi series on your blog? I am looking for a preppy hot pink and white wallpaper for my daughters room I saw the perfect one on the Horchow site next to a Lilly Pulitzer desk and chair but there is no credits for it anywhere.  Do you know of any sources for a paper like this? Thanks! I read your blog first thing every morning and I just love it!

Thanks for the question Alana!  That “wallpaper” you see was easy to identify.  It’s actually not wallpaper at all.   It’s fabric from the new Lilly Pulitzer collection from Lee Jofa. The pattern is Shall We in Hotty Pink.

This is a 100% linen fabric that has been used as a wallcovering.  In the photo below, you’ll see another Lilly Pulitzer room with fabric on the walls.

This wall is covered in In a Twist – Seafoam.  Don’t you just love all the color in this room!

I contacted the people at Lee Jofa to find out if the fabric patterns were available in wallpaper.  Unfortunately, they are not.  But don’t fret!  If you are absolutely in love with the “Shall We” fabric and must have it as a wallcovering, you have options.

Walls can be upolstered with fabric.  I’ve done this quite a bit in my projects.  You’d need quite a bit of fabric for a bedroom as well as a quality installer.  I use my drapery workroom for these installations.  I love the look of an upholstered wall.

Yet another option is to have the fabric backed so that you can hang it just like wallpaper.  A fabric finishing company I often use is Schneider-Banks Inc.  SBI can apply an acrylic latex backing to the rear of the fabric.  After this is done, you’re ready to hang your fabric.

If you want a wallpaper in the traditional sense, a Given Campbell pattern comes to mind.  It’s called Trellis in Petal and is available through Studio Printworks.

I love the fresh graphic quality of this wallpaper!  Given Campbell is a great friend of mine and I think that any girl would love to have this wallpaper.
