Forget Times New Roman in point size 12, spell check and grammar suggestions, connecting with friends and family from camp requires licks of envelopes rather than clicks of a mouse! The medium for communicating in true “camplike” fashion is a message from the past: letter writing.

When is the last time you raced to your mailbox because you were excited to receive something personal? My favorite childhood camp memory was receiving letters from my Mom each evening at dinner. I didn’t know it at the time, but she would have to send letters well before I left for camp just to make sure I had a letter on the first day. So, if I were headed back to camp today, here are the few notes I would take with me to make sure that my letter writing was done in high style:

From Dabney Lee: A classic notecard with a modern twist – the note is backed with classic nautical rope with the envelope lined in orange Chevron. Wouldn’t both of these designs make great fabrics?

From Rock Paper Scissor Luxe: A Camelot inspired take on the classic silhouette. I love that it is paired with a contemporary font – another classic with modern twist.

From Mr.Boddington’s Studio: The grand dame of stationery. The vintage monogram uses the number 3 instead of the Roman numeral III and is paired with one of my favorite patterns and color combinations of all time: hexagon with green and navy.

From Wiley Valentine: No one does better envelopes than Wiley Valentine. This envelope is shown in beet with a worldly pattern. It would definitely stand out among the white envelopes full of bills!

In the world on instant justification and communication via email, Facebook and Twitter, shouldn’t we all practice writing more than 140 characters at a time? Go ahead and make someone’s day – send them a personal note to their mailbox instead of their inbox!
