Energy House

I recently participated in a show house of sorts to benefit the March of Dimes. Dubbed the most energy efficient house in Arkansas, the quaint abode is located near Hot Springs in a resort community.

I had the pleasure of designing the master bedroom and attached sunroom. And though it wasn’t a requirement to use 100% energy efficient products in the interior, I made it my quest to infuse as many such elements as I could.

I drew on a very fresh and exciting color palette of aqua and orange to make the rooms updated and interesting. The result…a gorgeous mixture of new, used, vintage and flea market finds that are the perfect combination for the sun-filled space!

For the remainder of March, I will be bringing you my color boards, DIY projects, Tobi’s Top Ten Eco-friendly products, tips for taking your room green and much more related to the Energy House. So stay tuned.

Ahhhh, my beautiful hometown that I miss so much now that I have lived in the flatlands of Texas for too long. Will the house be available for viewing for a period of time? Hoping I can get back home to see what beautiful elements you have contributed to it.

Wow! If something had said to me, blue and green with tangerine…but looking at your boards it just totally works, I love them! How do you do that? Just heard you on the Skirted Roundtable and really enjoyed it – so high achieving and yet you sound so down to earth too, what an attractive combination. Your parents must be really proud of how you have carried on the family entrepreneurial spirit!
