Beautiful, functional, and Eco-friendly were all on my radar screen for the Energy House. But if I am being honest, my first thought was “cool”.
I don’t mean hip, though that would be fine too. I am talking about a fresh and cool color palette. That was my first thought when I set out to design the Energy House Bedroom. The jumping off point for me…Rubie Green’s organic cotton print called Patsy Blue. But how do I make this cool aqua tone a bit more exciting than normal? A pop of orange will certainly do the trick.
Here is my inspiration board for the bedroom filled with new items, vintage finds and junk yard gems!
The Sun room needed to compliment the bedroom, but have it’s own identity. Richer shades of green added a bit more depth without losing any of the serenity for this relaxing retreat.
Take a look at the inspiration board for this sun-filled space, candy bar and all. What fun!!!
More tomorrow on this fun and fanciful project…
See you then!

This color combo makes me happy ! So does that display cabinet
I recognize that tray in the first picture fro And Beige in DC. I really wanted it, but at that time it wasnt in my budget. Still a great looking table.

Everything that I am loving in those boards for the Energy House — the soft, cool hues punched with color. Love! Love! Love!
I am so in love with this color combination! I was thinking of using green and blue in my house but was told by another designer that the orange wouldn’t work, now I know better! It looks amazing and your work is amazing. I look forward to more of your blog entries.
The style boards for the Energy house look great. Love your fresh color inspiration and the fact that you used shells. I like to draw and paint them.
I’ve look at several really good things below. Most certainly price bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder just how much effort you put to create these an amazing helpful internet site.
I am aware this if off matter but I’m shopping into starting off my very own site and was wanting to know what all is needed to get build? I’m assuming possessing a website like yours would price tag a very penny? I’m not rather world-wide-web savvy so I am not 100% optimistic. Any solutions or recommendation may be drastically appreciated. Cheers
Types website is unquestionably precisely worthwhile for myself. I bookmarked your internet site!
