Who says Holiday colors have to be traditional?

I love the fresh citrus colors I have brought to my Holiday home decor. I put it up just before Thanksgiving and the orange and green palette carry me all the way through Christmas.

And it’s also fun to be a little non-traditional when it comes to my gift wrap. I buy citrus colored papers and ribbons all year long and put them away for the holidays.

Closer to Christmas I work fresh greenery and fruit into my artificial garlands and fruit. I love this touch of fresh because it smells so great!

Making designs in the fruit is a fun way to bring in a bit of my favorite geometric patterns into the Holiday decor. So we used upholstery tacks in the artificial oranges and then cloves in the fresh ones to make fun patterns and designs reminiscent of other patterns found in my home. And nothing smells better than fresh oranges and cloves mixed with evergreens this time of year.

Faux bois wrapping paper picks up on the natural theme I created with fresh greens and pine cones for a mix of trendy and timeless. I hope you’ll try some of these fun holiday decorating techniques in your home. Happy Decorating!
