Ok…So the hardwoods are complete upstairs but everything else is a DISASTER!!!! I am tackling the chore of putting it all back where it goes this weekend. How do we accumulate so much stuff?? I am a purger, I get a high from getting rid of things!!! I can’t imagine what this would be like if I was super-sentimental and held on to lots of things!
This weekend task has gotten me back on an organizing kick! I would love to hear everyones creative ideas for storing all our stuff!!! Think kids rooms, playrooms, closets…I am always looking for new tricks and products for keeping my home clutter-free and I would love to pass them on to clients as well! I hope you all have a weekend as productive as mine! I’m looking forward to your comments! xoxo Tobi

Hi Tobi,
I saw your work/blog on soichermarinsays.com – I have been a SMFA Rep for 17 years, first in the Midwest, now in the Southwest…friends with Ed & Jen for about that long! I love your work.
I spent many vacations as a child visiting my Grandmother, who lived in Little Rock, AK – and I too get a high when I throw things away. Went back to school to get my Interior Design Degree when I was 40, just to round out the perspective.
Will you be at Market? If you stop by the Soicher Marin Showroom, ask Jen to introduce us. You inspire me!

I bought at least 30 clear plastic bins from IKEA, in different sizes, and I love being able to see what’s inside. I also like how they all match. When you buy a couple at a time, you end up with a mish mash.
Happy cleaning! I’ve been doing the same. You can tell, because when the kids think they have done their two things each, they see me emptying out another closet, and run.
Best,
Michelle
Boxes and a Polaroid Camera Shot, or a list outside the box so you remember what are the box contents.
This way you don’t need to open each box to see what is inside.
All great ideas!! Ivan, I love the charming nature of polaroid shots! So nostalgic and functional at the same time!
And Michelle I know what you mean! My 3 year old is as busy tearing out as I am putting away!! xo Tobi
