New York’s Design Scene Part Deux

My exciting trip to New York last week culminated in a Fabulous Fete thrown in honor of Ronda Carman of All the Best Blog by my dear friend Amanda Nisbet.  Amanda’s home is spectacular and she is certainly the hostess extraordinaire as evidenced by the turnout of New York designers, Magazine Executives and notable Industry Professionals. Several members of Ronda’s “All the Best List”, her compilation of the most talented tastemakers from around the globe, were on hand including Amanda, me, Michael Devine and James Andrew.

My husband Carter made the trip with me to celebrate our anniversary and squeeze in a Yankee game.

Carter, me, and Christopher Spitzmiller . Look for an upcoming post on my visit to Christopher’s New York lamp studio.

New York Designer James Andrew of the fabulous blog What is James Wearing

My friend, fellow Arkansas native and NYC Interior Designer Brad Ford

Interior Designer Thomas Burak, Ronda’s husband Chris Carman, and artist Scott McBee

Carolyn and Todd Sollis. Carolyn is the former style director for House and Garden Magazine and is now the Public Relations Director for Bunny Williams’ new accessory line BeeLine Home

Benjamin Bradley of Bradley-Thiergartner Interior Design and Margeaux House from Koroseal

Amanda’s Birthday was the next day so friends surprised her with a cake.  The beautiful confection alluded to the guest of honor Ronda Carman and her amazing blog All the Best.

Michael Devine and Ronda Carman.

Also at the soiree were Tim and Elizabeth Mayhew. Elizabeth is the lifestyle expert on NBC’s the Today Show and recently wrote the great book Flip! For Decorating. Other guests included Heather Clawson of the blog Habitually Chic and Actress Caroline Rhea, dear friend of hostess Amanda Nisbet. I had the pleasure of visiting with Gerald Bland of the fabulous Antiques boutique on Madison of the same name that recently began selling Adbert Hadley’s design sketches. Gerald’s wife Mita Bland who is soon to have her renderings released in a new book, Sister Parish on Design:On Decorating was also at the party. And we were joined by the beautiful and talented New York designer Amy Lau whose work I will see next week in the Kips Bay Showhouse.

We were having so much fun and didn’t want the night to end. So a few of us continued over to the hotel that Ronda Carman is reviewing for Mr. and Mrs. Smith for a night cap.  Look at the size of the tub in her room! You can see Ronda’s review on an upcoming post of her blog All the Best.

  4. You are having too much fun! I’m in New York next week wish my trip had coincided with yours! Do you ever come out to Vegas for Market? I’ve been trying to organize a bloggers get together here for summer market in September but I have been too busy to really give it enough attention. It could be fun!
