I recently had the pleasure of having dinner with Jan Showers in Dallas after a day filled with tours of the David Sutherland Showroom with the Jan Showers Collection, the Sutherland factory, the Perrenials Offices and Jan’s gorgeous boutique.  I loved seeing some of Jan’s pieces in person especially her Syrie Chair with the grosgrain detailing and her fabulous fireplace screen.

 

 

Spending an evening with Jan Showers, one of the most iconic and prolific designers today, was truly a delight and one of the many experiences that I am thankful for this year. I attribute so many of my exciting experiences over the last year to my blog and the many contacts I have made from it.

So on a similar note this Thanksgiving Eve, I thought it might be fun to know what someone as successful and talented as Jan Showers is thankful for. I asked Jan what 10 things came to mind that she was especially grateful for this year. Though Jan said her blessings were far too many to count, here are a few of the things that are near and dear to her this Thanksgiving.

1. My Family–husband Jim, my children,  and my grandchildren

2. Sharing Thanksgiving Day with my family at our Country Home

3. My brother and his family who will share the day with us

4. Good Health

5. Close friends whom I treasure–a good friend is worth gold!

6. The gifts God has given me that allow me to feel passionately about what I do on a daily basis

7. The amazing people I get to work with everyday–they are dedicated and diligent and we are like a family.

8.My book and everyone who made it a reality

9.The clients I work with–they allow me to use my talents and hopefully, I always give them my best

10. My dog, Sweetie
