I love the New Year! There is just something about getting to have a fresh start every 365 days that makes me happy! Even though 2008 was a wonderful year, one of my favorites to be honest, it is fun to have an excuse to start doing all the things you said you would last year and just never did.
And although I really do like to make resolutions, the fabulous Anne at The City Sage, inspired me to dream a little bigger and reach a little higher with this years list! So instead of the typical clean out my closets, lose 15 pounds, stop eating sugar, landscape the yard, I resolve to take life by the horns this year and make each moment special. So here goes…
I will keep fresh flowers in my home all the time! I typically buy them once a month but this year, I’m going for once a week!
I resolve to use the good china, really use it! At least once a week, my family and I will sit in the dining room and enjoy a gorgeous meal together sans tv! Now this is exciting!!!
I will go on dates with my hubby…fabulous dates!!

I will find reasons to Celebrate life! I’m talking parties!! I love to entertain and I will carry the celebrating I started last month throughout this new year! Dinner parties, luncheons, teas, cocktails! The sky’s the limit!!This is going to be fun!
I will read for sheer pleasure! Not just for work but whatever strikes my fancy!
I will take vacations…lots of them!!! I resolve to take my family to places we have never been been!!
I will wear my fabulous high heels…a lot more often! So part 2 of this resolution, pedicures twice a month! Yippee!
I will relax! Truly relax! I promise to not find reasons to pre-empt my twice a week yoga lessons!!
I will be a kid again every single week! Look out Ellison, Mommy is ready to let her hair down!!!
I will drink fine wine any chance I get (okay so maybe this is not really new to me, but I will make a conscious effort to find new great wines to love!)
I will get back to nature! I will get out in the woods as often as possible and enjoy the healing powers of the earth! My nephew is already on board to be my hiking partner! Now I just need a new pair of hiking boots!
I had a feeling that 2009 was going to be fantastic, but with this new approach, I have no doubts! I highly recommend you try it! The writing of these resolutions was as fun and exciting as living them is going to be! And who said resolutions had to be a chore! They just didn’t have the right approach!! Happy 2009!!!

I feel really inspired to actually make my own New Years Resolutions. I feel like we can do it!!!
